About This Site and the Company Behind It

It does two separate things. It publishes research about bathroom remodeling costs, permits, housing stock and climate in the Louisville area, with every figure traced to a named public source and a retrieval date. And it offers a project request form that connects a homeowner with independent bathroom remodeling companies covering their ZIP code. It does not measure a bathroom, price a job, order fixtures, pull a permit, hold any trade license, or supervise anything that happens afterwards.

Those two functions are usually blurred together on sites like this one, and separating them is the honest thing to do. The research half is free to read and stands on its own; nothing on the cost or permit pages depends on whether the form is ever used. The connection half only begins when a reader fills in the form on the contact page and gives the consent that appears on its final step. The companies that respond set their own scope, price and schedule, and any contract is between the homeowner and that company.

Coverage and availability decide it. This site does not vet companies, does not confirm that any company holds a current Kentucky plumbing or electrical license, does not inspect insurance certificates, and does not rank or endorse anyone. Nobody here checks a company before a connection is made.

That is the least flattering sentence on this site and it is the most important one. Words like screened, approved and hand-picked appear on a great many pages that work exactly the way this one does, and they describe a process that is not happening. Requests submitted here are routed by ZIP code to companies that have asked to receive them, and the consent language on the form names the parties who may contact you: this site, the marketplace that handles the request, and up to four remodeling companies. Whether a particular company is right for your project is a judgment only you can make, and the buyer's guide on this site explains which documents and public lookups make that judgment possible.

It will not quote a price, because it sets none. It will not name a monthly payment, an interest rate or a financing term, because the operator is not a lender and does not know what any company offers. It will not say that a grant, Medicare, Medicaid or an insurance policy will pay for a walk-in tub, because in general they do not and the operator cannot verify any individual's eligibility for anything. It will not show before-and-after photographs of completed projects, because there are no completed projects: the photographs on this site are stock images from a public photo library showing bathrooms and planning materials, chosen to illustrate a page and not presented as work done for anyone.

It will not publish reviews or testimonials, because the operator has no customers in the ordinary sense and has not remodeled anyone's bathroom. And it will not print a figure it could not confirm at the publishing body's own page, which is why several entries on the proof and methodology pages read NOT FOUND instead of carrying a number.
